A diversified, multi–commodity explorer focused on projects in South Australia
Tasman holds a number of exploration tenements in South Australia. The main project, Lake Torrens, is strategically located close to the Olympic Dam copper-gold-uranium deposit. In November 2009, Tasman discovered a promising new iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) system at the Vulcan Prospect 30km north of Olympic Dam. Further drilling in 2010 and 2011 produced some very encouraging results at Vulcan, and the Project was the subject of a farm-in with Rio Tinto Exploration from late-2012 till early 2014. Tasman subsequently executed a farm in and joint venture agreement with Fortescue Metals Group in 2019 who are currently exploring the Lake Torrens Project.
Tasman also holds a minority interest in Conico Ltd which holds the Mt Thirsty cobalt-nickel oxide deposit near Norseman in Western Australia in partnership with Barra Resources Ltd. Conico is also exploring gold, nickel and base metal targets in Greenland.
